To say that it was a bit windy on the day of Hawley’s shoot would be a major understatement. It was a whole lot of windy. Plus, with the addition of being on the water, it made it even more windy.
But that’s why I love my clients! Even in the less than ideal weather situations, they are ready for anything. Hawley was amazing throughout the gusts of wind almost taking her hat into the lake.
Hawley chose the awesome location of Rockledge Park in Grapevine. It is right on Grapevine Lake and there are some really cool rock formations that makes you feel like you’re not in Texas, at all. Given that there are no mountains in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, this location gives the feeling that there are some hills….sort of.
Hawley goes to Grapevine High School and will graduate this Spring. In the Fall she is headed to Belmont University in Nashville, where she plans to study Entrepreneurship and Business. Smart girl!
While it was super windy, Hawley made it work. And with the sun shining and the rocky cliffs, it felt almost like we were at the beach. At least as close to a beach as this part of Texas can have, right?
This location has become one of my favorites for Grapevine senior portraits for sure. It’s so different, it requires just a little bit of hiking, but on a beautiful day with warm sunshine and a cool breeze, it’s perfect for your photos.
Congratulations, Hawley! I’m so excited for the future for you!
