I’m willing to bet that there are AT LEAST 3-5 other businesses that do the same thing that you do in your area. Financial planners, CPAs, dentists, clothing boutiques, graphic designers, realtors, and the list goes on and on.
Just think about it. Here in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, there are SO MANY businesses. And with the area being so huge, there are tons of businesses who do the same thing or very similar things.

In the case of this financial planner, she pivoted her branding from a somewhat generic brand that served most people, to one that is targeted specifically to professional career women. This, on its own, puts her in her own category.
She’s made her brand statement clear. When I meet a professional woman who is looking for a financial planner, I’m referring her to Pearl Financial Planning, because she is the financial planner for professional women. I wouldn’t just refer anyone.
