If you’re an entrepreneur or small business owner in the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex and I’m guessing you probably need a headshot. Or maybe it’s been a really long time since you’ve had a headshot and yours is outdated. Perhaps you just don’t look like your current self.
And one of the things that we don’t want to do is catfish our potential clients. I see it way too often – where people who use their headshots for a longer than two or three years.
They use them for like five, ten, maybe even longer because they liked how they looked in their old photo, and maybe they’re a little bit nervous about what a new headshot might look like to them.
However, it’s important to look like your current self. If you’re looking for headshots, this post is going to talk about how much headshots cost in the Dallas, Texas area.
How much do headshots cost in Dallas, Texas?
If you’re looking for headshots in Dallas, Texas, then you might be wondering how much they cost and honestly, it’s going to vary from area to area and photographer to photographer.
You’ll see a whole range of what headshots may cost and it’s also going to depend on what type of headshots you’re looking for. Whether you’re looking for actor headshots, or realtor headshots, or a headshot for your website or for your LinkedIn or for a publication.
I would say in general, for a good quality headshot, let’s say just one photo, you’re going to look at probably spending at least $150 and it goes up from there.
Now, I would venture to suggest that if you want more than just one headshot, you maybe want to budget somewhere in the ballpark of at least $300 or so.
Because depending on the photographer, you could even get a whole photoshoot for something like that, or just headshots. It really depends on the photographer and your budget for headshots.
What do headshots cost for business owners?
So if you’re an entrepreneur, a small business owner, an online business owner, a realtor, a corporate professional, whatever the case may be, you may need a headshot and if you’re on your own, you got to go get yourself one individually.
Let’s just say that you should be prepared to spend at least $200, but really, I would budget about $300 and it can go up from there.
You’ll find prices that are lower, you’ll find packages that are higher, but at least that gives you a good ballpark.
Where do you shoot headshots in Dallas, Texas?
Well, again, it’s going to depend on the photographer that you hire. Some photographers have studios, and so you can shoot indoors in their studio. In most cases, it will be against a colored or neutral backdrop.
Other photographers may only do on location. And so, something like that will be in nature, which is also great.
And then there’s other photographers who don’t have their own studio, but they can rent a studio or a place with backdrops and lighting.
Who pays for the the studio? Well it depends on the photographer and depends on the photoshoot. Either the client pays for that or it’s included in your package or the photographer pays for it.
It just depends. And then another thing is like you might be wondering like how long is a headshot photo shoot?
How long is a headshot session?
And again, it’s really going to depend on your photographer. And so I know some photographers who offer like a really super quick 10 minute session, you’re in and out, you’re done.
There’s other photographers who do their headshot sessions at about a 30 minute session or even a one hour session.
And then there’s other photographers who are on the higher end of the spectrum. They’ll charge you a session fee and then you’ll have a photo shoot for up to two hours, three even, and then you’ll buy your photos on the back end separately.
It really just depends on the photographer you hire. It also depends on how much time you have, how quickly you want to get it done, do you want to go into the studio?
Do you just want to meet for 10 minutes? I would say that in most cases, a headshot photo shoot is going to look like at least 15, 20 minutes.
If you find a photographer who’s offering them on a mini session type of day, the sessions might be as short as five minutes. And I’ve done that in the past where I have a day where people could sign up for a headshot session slot.
And so the cost was a lot lower, but also, I was only with them for about five minutes and that yielded one or two photos, but that was all they needed.
As you can see headshots vary in cost depending on the photographer, location, and what it is that you need. So think about how you will use this headshot or headshots. Are they for your business card? Is it for your Linkedin profile? Your usage will help guide you in how much you can expect to spend on new headshots.
