Can you tell us about your journey as a female entrepreneur and what inspired you to start your business?
My journey began from my husband’s massive heart attack. We decided we did not want him on seven prescription drugs for the rest of his life so we began to advocate for our own health and healing. I turned to food to help the healing process. I ended up going to two nutrition schools and a culinary school and over the course of a couple of years we were able to reverse the damage. The heart attack had caused. It was such a big aha moment for me that I wanted to be able to help others on their healing journey.
What is your business? What sets your business apart from others in your industry?
I’m all about showing folks easy, everyday ways to eat better and live healthier lives. No crazy diets or strict food rules, just practical tips to help reduce chronic inflammation and feel great in the process.
How do you define success? What does “success” look like for you?
Waking up every morning know I’m making a small positive difference in the quality of others lives. And freedom. Creating an online business has allowed me the freedom to travel and not be confined to a geographical location. It’s glorious.
What are some lessons you’ve learned along the way that have helped shape your business?
Keep a schedule. When you work for yourself, it’s easy to get distracted. Set the goals, make a plan, and keep a schedule that aligns with that plan.
What advice would you give to other aspiring female entrepreneurs looking to start their own businesses?
Anyone can begin their journey to living the life they dream of. It takes one step. Followed by one more step and another. Those steps are the building blocks to living that dream.
What role does personal branding play in your business and how do you leverage it for growth?
Personal branding is at the top of my business. How you show up sets the tone for how others will see you and potentially do business with you. Represent yourself well and consistently.
