Are you a website designer looking for branding photos? Like, you know you need brand photos, but you just want it to get done the easy way. Well, this post is for you. Branding photos don’t have to be complicated. The process is simple.
As a web designer, you know the importance of brand photos on your website. They are a key component to communicating with your ideal client. People like to know who they will be working with and who will be completing their project. If you have a team that works with you, be sure to include them in your branding shoot, too.
Website Designer Branding Photoshoot Process
This is my branding shoot framework for all small businesses.
Step 1. Inquiry & Connection Call
After you’ve decided that it’s time for a branding shoot for your website design business, send an inquiry through the website. From there, I’ll send an email with a link to schedule a connection call. That’s just a fancy name for “discovery call” or “consultation call”. This is a simple Zoom call to get to know you as a business and what you’re looking for or needing with a photoshoot. It’s important to determine if we’re a good fit before working together.
Step 2. Book your photoshoot
Make it official and book your photoshoot. For me, a 50% retainer is due to secure your photoshoot date. You’ll choose a preferred date for your shoot. I recommend that you choose a date at least four weeks out, and if timing allows, eight weeks out to allow for ample preparation.
Step 3. Brand questionnaire, planning call, and Pinterest board
After booking your shoot, you’ll receive a brand questionnaire, which is where you answer questions about your brand, your vision for the photoshoot, and the brand details of your business. When you send that back, we’ll schedule your planning call. On the call, we’ll discuss the details of your brand questionnaire, talk through location ideas, storylines, and start bringing the pieces together for your branding shoot.
Following the call, you can book any location rentals, your makeup artist, and stylist as needed. If you need help choosing and booking a location, I’m happy to help.
Step 4. Branding Shoot Day
It’s photoshoot day! We’ll meet at your shoot location and I’ll walk the space to check out the areas with the best natural lighting and what areas may need some lighting. You may choose to have the makeup artist come to the shoot location (though that would require additional time if you rented the location), or you can come ready from that appointment. Bring your outfits, props, and be ready to have a good time.
Step 5. Editing and Delivery
A few days after your branding shoot, you’ll get to see some sneak peeks. About two weeks later, you’ll receive the gallery of your photoshoot, ready to use your photos across your website, social media, marketing, and more. It’s key to start using your photos soon after you’ve received them. If you’re redesigning your website, be sure to add these new photos. Start using them on social media (or send them to your social media manager), use them in your blog posts, and YouTube thumbnails.
