Personal Brand Photography: 3 Secrets to Make a Good Impression

So you may have been hearing the buzz around personal brand photography. You may be wondering why it matters. What’s the big deal?

Well, if you’re a small business owner and sell products or services, then keep reading. Personal brand photography matters to you and your business. It will help you make a great first impression on people visiting your website.

Why do you need personal brand photography?

You know how they say that “people like to buy from people”? It’s true! And brand photos can help you make that first impression. Having your photo on your website and social media lets your audience get to know you. They’ll start to recognize you throughout your online presence between your website, social media platforms, and any other organizations.

Having a personal brand also allows you to build connections. It shows your audience that you take your brand and what you do seriously. A product is a product. But a product with a personal brand behind can influence a purchase in a great capacity than the product alone.

You can even think of it in simple terms. Wouldn’t you prefer buying a product or service from someone you were familiar with versus a complete stranger? The personal brand you’re familiar with makes you feel more at east and comfortable. A complete stranger could be trying to scam you.

Part of the magic of personal brand photography is that it helps build that like, know, trust factor that helps potential buyers, customers, and clients make a decision to choose you. They like you, they know you, and they trust you enough to spend their money with you.

Why is personal brand photography important for small business?

Investing in personal brand photography will pay off in dividends. As a small business, I know that managing your budget is very important. And so is selling your product or service. Having good photos creates a mood, a feeling, and that feeling drives potential customers to make a purchase.

When you’re starting out, maybe you have to take all your own photos. I get it. But when you’re ready to level up your business and scale and grow, you have to show potential customers and clients that you are a professional and an expert at what you do.

You can communicate your expertise with your brand photos. You can show what you do behind the scenes and what goes into your product or service. Demonstrate what all is involved and the results that you get for your clients. Whether those results are healthy, glowing skin, an organized pantry, or selling their home for above asking price.

Experts help us shortcut through the messy parts of trying to figure it all out by yourself. You trust experts to take you through A to C, and with their help, you can skip B altogether!

3 Secrets to make a good impression online

  1. Show your face on your website. Smile at the camera. Welcome your audience into your world. Nothing communicates confidence quite like looking at the camera. I see so many small businesses where the business owner is nowhere to be found. You don’t know who you’re dealing with, and for me, that’s a dealbreaker from the beginning. People want to see you!
  2. Have a well organized website. Make it easy for your viewer to get help from you. Make it easy for your potential customer make a purchase. If there are too many proverbial hoops, too much industry jargon, or anything that is unclear, your customer is going to click away.
  3. Share the benefits of working with YOU. Many business owners who are just starting out tend to focus on the features of their offer. Whether it’s a product or a service. Instead, share the benefits the customer will receive from working with you. What is the transformation that they will experience? Will you help them create a social media strategy? Will you help them choose wellness products? Talk about how they are before they encounter your business and where they will be after working with you. Sell the transformation.

I hope this was helpful and gives you a broad overview of personal brand photography. As a small business, you can’t hide behind your products or services. You have to show the face behind the brand. Ultimately, people want to work with people they know, like, and trust. And they can’t do that if they don’t know who is the face of the business.

So I hope you consider taking your business to the next level with custom brand photography so that you can better connect, grow a relationship, and eventually work with all the clients of your dreams!
