I finished week 2 of the the Couch to 5k.
Verdict about running: still don’t love it.
I make myself get out there the three days of training a week. It’s a good thing that I have a 5k coming up, otherwise, I’d definitely put this off.
I’m not a runner and I don’t think I’ll ever be a runner who loves it. However, I’m willing to give it a shot. I’m willing to complete the 9 week training program and run in two 5k races. Except, right now, the idea of running for three minutes straight sounds daunting. I can’t imagine running for 35-45 minutes straight! Let alone 3-4 hours like a marathon would take. Baby steps.
Once I complete the Couch to 5k, I can cross it off my bucket list…yes, the program itself was on my list. And then, in March when I do the Color Run and in May when I do the Neverland 5k during the TinkerBell Half Marathon Weekend, I can cross those things off my bucket list as well.
One of the things I’ve found that I can’t run without is the FlipBelt. The FlipBelt has been an awesome tool! My sister gifted me with one at Christmas, and I must say it’s become the number one must-have tool for running. What is it?
It’s a waist belt that you can use to carry your phone, keys, ID, and anything else you might need on a run. Because who has pockets on their running pants or yoga pants? I have one pair that happens to have pockets, but if I were to put anything in them and go jogging, surely everything would eventually fall out.
The FlipBelt keeps everything secure and on your person. It’s great. I use the clip for my keys and use one of the pockets for my phone.
Onto Week 3!
