Have you been to Erwin Park McKinney for senior portraits?
If this past May wasn’t the most rain Texas has ever seen, then I don’t know what the most rain ever looked like. All I can remember is day after day of rain. So much rain that it then flooded. A wedding venue that I had photographed at a few years ago was completely underwater.
We were completely down to the wire for Chris’ shoot. It was early May, with just weeks before graduation, and scheduling dates were few and far between, we had to make it happen. On the day of her shoot, the forecast showed that it may or may not rain. I remember looking outside my house and the sun was shining brightly.
However, over in Frisco, where Chris lives, it was raining. Hard. She texted me asking if we should postpone. Thankfully, the rain was just passing through. And the skies cleared to make for a beautiful photo shoot. Chris graduated from Centennial High School in Frisco and now attends Texas A&M University.

Chris has been waiting for her acceptance email to Texas A&M and the day before her shoot she found out that she was in!
You would never have known that just hours before this shoot, it was raining like crazy in Erwin Park.
I love this pretty kimono that Chris paired with cutoffs, her “Howdy” shirt, and cowboy boots.
Chris is a budding photographer in her own right and was the one who told me about this location. It’s the perfect hidden gem in McKinney. It doesn’t even feel like you’re in Texas. It gives the illusion of hills something that is totally lacking here!
