Have you been hearing the buzz words “brand photoshoot” and wondering why you should book one?
A common question I receive is “what is the difference between a brand photoshoot and lifestyle headshots?”
In this blog post, I’m sharing the all about the difference between brand photoshoots and lifestyle headshot sessions.
When Do You Need a Brand Photoshoot?
When I’m on a discovery call, I start by asking more about your business and what it is you’re looking for when it comes to marketing photos.
I usually hear a mix of:
“I need a new headshot. And photos for social media. Oh and photos for my website. And I’m launching a new product and I need photos for the sales page.”
Branding photography is what you’re looking for! It’s more than a headshot session, not really just a product shoot, different from a lifestyle photoshoot (think newborns, maternity, family photoshoot). It’s a Brand Photoshoot.
What a branding photoshoot is not just headshots
A branding photoshoot is not your traditional headshots. When you head “headshots, you probably conjure an image of a paper backdrop, bright lights, and a little reminiscent of picture day at school.
Or, maybe you think of actor headshots with a super closeup of one’s face. It’s not that either.
Further still, you might think of yearbook photos or corporate directories.
Those are headshots, and to be honest, they are pretty basic.
A branding photoshoot is anything but basic.
What a branding photoshoot is comprehensive
If you’re wondering what a branding photoshoot is, then you’re in the right place.
It’s a marketing photoshoot for your business that involves planning and strategy. In order to create the results you want, you have to be intentional about it. This type of photoshoot will yield a library of photos that show off your business, your vibe, and most importantly YOU.
Because you are the ONE THING that sets you apart from everyone else in your industry.
That’s why building a personal brand is so crucial to the success of your business. You have to give people a reason for choosing you over everyone else.
The resulting photos from a personal branding shoot are way more than just headshots. They do include your headshot, but you’ll also get photos of you in action, working behind the scenes, personality photos for things like sales pages and landing pages, and more.
Build Your Personal Brand with a Photoshoot
A branding photoshoot will showcase the full gamut of your personality and brand personality. Potential clients who come to your website or social media or business will be able to decide if they like you (or not) as soon as they arrive.
In other words, a brand photoshoot will allow you stand out and take a stand for your business.
Gone are the days of blending in and getting lost in the crowd.
It’s time to stand out and get noticed.
For my Signature Brand Photoshoot package, you’ll receive around 75-100 images that you can use across all of your marketing, social platforms, website, landing pages, optin pages, sales pages, and more. This content should last you at least 6 months, if not a year or more.
I recommend updating your brand photos about every 18-24 months so that you always have current photos of how you currently look.
4 Reasons you should book a brand photoshoot
If you run your own business, there are a few reasons why you might want a brand shoot. Here are a few common ones:
- You are launching a new website. I recommend having custom photography for new websites. If you’re leveling up with a new website, it’s time to ditch the generic stock photos.
- Before a product or service launch. Are you launching a new service or product? Or maybe you’re working on a podcast or online course.
- During a rebrand. Are you pivoting your business or niching down? If you’re working with a brand designer or web designer, this is a great time to work together and get new photos.
- If you’ve relocated to a new city. You should definitely update your brand photos that reflect your new market – especially if the outdoors plays a part of your business.
And finally, I recommend booking a brand photoshoot when you’re ready to take your business to the next level.
