What is a brand mini session? And how is it different from a full session?
So maybe you’ve heard of family mini sessions in the fall or spring. But maybe you’ve heard about branding mini sessions and wondering what those are.
Well, that’s exactly what we’re getting into in this post.
A mini session is a mini photoshoot. It’s when a photographer chooses a set date and location for a day mini shoots. Usually, these mini sessions range between 15 to 45 minutes. Mini sessions are great way to get some brand photos if you’re on a budget or short on time.
For me, I like to say that it’s a bite sized version of the full experience. Because there is only so much that you can get done in a limited amount of time. However, you can can easily update your content and headshots with a mini session.
I also recommend branding mini sessions to clients who aren’t quite ready for a full session. Sometimes they are working with a brand designer or web designer and fleshing out their brand identity. Typically those types of clients will benefit most with an “entry” level shoot like a mini session.
Alright, let’s chat about when you should choose a mini session over the full Personal Branding Photoshoot.
Mini sessions are a great option for when you’re just getting started in your business. Because it’s such a short shoot, you’ll be able to capture some new headshots and a handful of content you can use on social media. A mini session is not enough time for a full brand photoshoot.
If you’re an established brand, minis are great if you need only a couple of specific shots, such as a new headshot or photos for a landing page or a Facebook ad. like for a new headshot or a handful of images for social media. I have one client who book a full shoot first and has returned for 2 rounds of mini sessions to update her headshot and a few lifestyle photos.
Full brand sessions are for entrepreneurs and small businesses that are ready to level up their visual presence. A full brand session affords the opportunity to create specific photos that are unique to your brand.
If you’re going through a rebrand, launching a product suite or course, need a full library of brand photos to use across your marketing channels, then a full brand session is for you.
A full brand session involves a complete planning and strategy call in order to pinpoint the types of photos that you are looking for, who your ideal client is that you want to attract, and what types of photos would serve your purposes best.
If you’re working on a sales page for a course or launching a new website, the types of photos that you need will vary based on the copy, emotion, and usage. But don’t worry about having that figured out. That’s what I’m here for.
