If you’re a creative entrepreneur in the Dallas area and you’re looking for a branding photographer, well then you’ve landed in the right place! Let’s chat all about booking a Dallas branding session, shall we?

Dallas Branding Photographer Process

We’ve got a simple process that we take our clients through. From discovery to brand analysis to planning, shooting, and delivering on-brand images to use across your marketing. This Dallas branding photographer has all the goods for you!

Step 1: Inquiry and Connection

Your first step to book a Dallas branding shoot is to inquire. You can do so on the website or by email. Tell me a little bit about yourself, your business, and why you’re looking for a branding shoot right now. Don’t worry you don’t have to write a novel or anything!

After your inquiry is received, I’ll reach out with a link to book a connection call. That’s just my fancy term for a discovery call. Now on this call, I’ll ask you about your business, brand, and how to help. I’ll walk you through my process. If we determine that we’re a good fit, we’ll move on to booking.

I believe it’s important to be a good fit (mutually) in order to have the best outcomes.

Step 2. Booking the session

On the call, I’ll recommend the type of session that would work best for you based on your photo needs. I offer an Intro Branding Session, Half Day Session, and Full Day Session. If you’re the type of business that requires a lot of content throughout the year, I may recommend a subscription to my Quarterly Sessions which give you a one hour session every quarter. To book, you’ll sign a contract and pay your retainer.

Step 3. Brand questionnaire & Planning call

The key to success with a branding shoot is proper preparation. Part of that preparation is a brand questionnaire for you to complete. It asks questions about your business, brand, and how you want your business to be perceived and if there are any disconnects in your visual imagery right now. From there, we’ll schedule a planning call where we’ll meet virtually to discuss your vision for the shoot, storylines we can capture to paint the full story of your brand, talk location ideas, outfits, and more.

Step 4. Brand Photoshoot day!

I recommend that clients take the day off from their business or full time job on their branding shoot day. In order to get the best photos, you need to be in the right frame of mind and that’s not possible if you’re distracted by work emails, client calls, or projects you can’t stop thinking about. Your branding shoot day is a great “excuse” to take the day to yourself. I also suggest that you can spend the rest of your day doing business planning and to go out to dinner – way to complete the goal of a brand photoshoot!

Step 5. Editing and Delivery

A few days (or as soon as possible!) I try to give you a few sneak peek photos. And then a couple of weeks later, I will send you full gallery with photos that are ready to use across all your marketing, website, social media, and more. And that’s a wrap!

Locations for Dallas Branding Photoshoot

course creator dallas branding photographer

Since Dallas is a huge area, there are so many great locations for a branding shoot. The location you choose will definitely depend on your business and brand aesthetic and vibe. Here are some suggestions:

Natural Light Studios are great if you’re looking for a location that’s a blank slate and you can style it yourself. It’s also a great option if you just want something neutral and your location is not necessarily a focus of your photoshoot.

The Lumen Room

Vantage Street Studio

Mustard Seed Studio

The Lightbox Dallas

Black & Light Studio

If you’re looking for a home rental, there are sites like Peerspace and Home Studio List that have some great options. Ideally, you want to book a space that has some good natural light coming in. However, I do know that sometimes photos on the Internet can be misleading! So if you need help choosing a home studio rental, reach out and I can give you my input.

Dallas Branding Photographer Tips for Small Businesses

My top three tips for small businesses when it comes to marketing their businesses are the following. Build a personal brand, network to build relationships, and give and offer value.

Build a personal brand. Don’t hide behind your business. Show people who the face of the business is. People like to do business with other people, so it’s important to share who you are beyond the business. You don’t have to share you’re whole life – you get to draw the boundaries – but by sharing your personal brand, your audience and customers and clients can build a deeper connection and loyalty to your brand.

Network to build relationships. Don’t just network to add people to your list or in hopes of referrals. Network to connect with like minded entrepreneurs and business owners. Make friends! Entrepreneurship can often feel lonely, so finding some fellow business owners helps so much to bounce ideas off each other, brainstorm, and collaborate. As a result of building a relationship, your connections will naturally think of you when someone is looking for your services.

Give and offer value. As much as you may want to “sell, sell, sell”, that mentality is often annoying to people. But if you give and offer value – like sharing tips and hacks, people will be more attracted to your business because you are helping and educating people.
