Branding mini sessions are a great way to update your photos (or get them for the first time) for your headshot, website, social platforms, and marketing.
What is a branding mini session?
As the name suggests, a branding mini session is a bit size version of a branding session. My full branding sessions start at 2 hours and a mini session is just 20 minutes. It’s an opportunity to update your headshot and create a handful of on-brand photos to promote your business. It’s not, however, enough time to create an entire LIBRARY of photos like a full branding session would afford.
Branding mini sessions are also only offered on a very limited basis, usually twice a year.
If you’re looking for something more custom, I recommend considering a full branding shoot.
If you’re just looking for a few new photos, a mini session may be the right thing for you!
Is a branding mini session right for you?
You may be wondering if a branding mini session is right for you. Well, if you’re short on time, or short on budget for a full session (full sessions start at 2 hours and $1297), a mini session (20 minutes and $350).
If you have some brand photos already and are looking to add to your library of photos and update your headshot, then a mini session may be fore you.
If you’ve been thinking about a branding shoot, but have hesitated because you wonder if it’s the right thing for your business, a mini session is great way to “test” the waters. You’ll walk away with a handful of usable photos and can decide if you need more, and in that case you can book a full shoot.
However, if you’ve got a big product or course launch coming up, are rebranding, launching a brand new website, or starting from scratch, then I would recommend considering a full session. You won’t feel as rushed, everything will be custom tailored to you and your brand, you’ll be able to choose the location, and you’ll also get way more photos.

How to maximize a branding mini session?
Now, you may be wondering how you can maximize your time during a branding mini session. Since the time is limited, it’s important to go in with a plan. If you have specific photos that you would like your photographer to capture, please let me know in advance.
For example, if you are a realtor and would like a photo with a client gift or a set of keys or anything else that is a specific photo in mind, please let your photographer know before the shoot starts.
Come to the shoot with an outfit that can turn into two outfits. What I mean is this. Wear an outfit that you can then layer something on top so that it looks like you changed. A mini session usually does not allow enough time to change your whole outfit. However, adding a blazer, button down shirt, or cardigan can instantly change your look and change up your photos for part of your shoot.
Have any props you want to include ready to go. If you have some inspiration photos that will help explain what you’re thinking of, share those with your photographer during the shoot. Please don’t expect them to know what you mean by “sitting and laughing” as that could be interpreted in a myriad of ways!
