It can take a lifetime to figure out what you love to do. But once you do. Once you identify what it is that fires you up and speaks to your core as a person, do it and do it often.
I know that when I was in high school, I had no idea that photography was on my horizon. I am so thankful that I discovered this passion, and not only that, I’m so happy that I figured out what I love to photograph: high school senior girls. Why? Because you are in a pivotal time in your life, about to close the door on one chapter of your existence, and move on to your next adventure. Graduating from high school is a huge milestone — not everyone does. It’s such an important time in your life, so why not capture who you are, your essence right now? Plus, you love to have your picture taken and that totally makes my job a million times more fun!
I’m so thankful to be doing what I love and call it my job, too. I know that when I first graduated from college, I started a job simply because the company offered it to me. But after a while, I quickly realized that it was not my life calling. I’m so grateful that now I have the opportunity to influence teen girls and show them to embrace their true beauty, both inside and out. I know that sometimes, your high school years can be a tumultuous time, and I’d love to show you just how amazing you are!
So as you travel on your journey through life, find the thing you love and hold it tight. Don’t be discouraged by the naysayers, in fact prove them wrong! You can do it!
