Valentine’s Day means a couple of things in my world.

• A reason to indulge in some chocolate (as if you really need an excuse).
• An extra special day to celebrate love with those who are important to you (but I think you should celebrate everyday).
• A day to send cards to your best friends (so I totally meant to do this…but it looks like they may be President’s Day cards at this point).
• A fantastic time for people watching. People stressing over gifts. Guys getting ready to propose. Groups celebrating “Singles Awareness Day”.
• And small minor, detail, Valentine’s Day means nine more days until my birthday!

My perfect Valentine’s Day includes spending time with my awesome husband. Period. End of story. I don’t need fancy dinners or crazy gifts. Just time with him. And well, this year, probably a House of Cards binge-fest through the weekend.

Today, there’s some sort of surprise in store this evening and I’m doing my best not to guess.
