Dear Cent,
I honestly cannot believe that it’s been five years already. Five years. Half a decade. It feels like our wedding was just months ago, not years. And it remains the most fun day I’ve had surrounded by our families and our friends. I’d be lying if I said that I didn’t compare other weddings to ours.
I’m so thankful that our paths crossed and it’s one of those chance meetings that was truly orchestrated by the big guy upstairs. How else would a girl from California and a guy who was an Army brat meet? In Florida? At DisneyWorld? As Interns? It’s a story that makes me laugh every time I tell it. Because we’re not from Texas. You’re not from California. I’m not from Georgia. And we met in Florida. At DisneyWorld.
Who knew that two recent college grads would meet on a muggy August day in the Disney College Program apartment complex, and would end up married, and now celebrating five years of marriage. I’m thankful that we have a simple relationship. I don’t really know how to describe it other than that. Oftentimes we’re on the same wavelength and it kind of freaks me out that you were thinking what I was just thinking, and that I said what you were about to say. It’s weird. It’s psychic. It’s us.
You’re thoughtful and caring, understanding and patient, and well, at the end of the day (even if I make you crazy) you still love me. It blows my mind some days. But all I can say is thank you. Thank you for loving me so well. For taking care of me. For listening and for doing life together. I couldn’t ask for anyone better…because well, there isn’t anyone. You’re the best.
I love you.
Here’s to many more anniversaries and adventures.
Married life is the best life.
All the cousins. Lots has happened in 5 years. A wedding, moves across the country and out of the country, high school graduations, college graduations, grad school graduations. A whole lot of school!
My parents are pretty awesome!
And so are my in-laws!
And this. This is why photos are SOOOO important. I’m so glad that our photographer got a photo of Cent and his granny (who passed away last year). This will always be a favorite photo.
