It’s a new year. Aside from Christmas time, this is one of my favorite times of the year. A time to reflect and think about everything that has happened in the previous year and thinking about what I want to make happen in the future.
One of my favorite tools for doing this are Powersheets by Lara Casey. I’ve attended two Making Things Happen workshops – one in 2010 and one in 2012, and both times I walked away with a new sense of clarity for what I want in my life. It’s been really interesting to see the common threads as well as the differences from year to year. Growth and evolution.
In a similar fashion, Powersheets have gone through their own evolution since the first version was release a couple years ago. The 2015 Edition Powersheets are awesome. You start out with some basic foundational steps before you actually write out your goals for the next six months as well as the monthly tending sheets.
I love that Lara and her team have listened to use feedback to make these the best set yet.
Even if you aren’t ready to pull the trigger on ordering your own Powersheets, I would totally check out Lara’s Goal Setting Series on her blog. She walks you through the foundational steps for setting up your goals for success in 2015!
One of the things that I have learned in all of this is that goal setting is your first step. You have to be persistent and take action on your goals if you want to make them happen. Sometimes it’s the tiniest of steps. Sometimes is bigger, scarier ones, but either way, you’ll be moving in the direction of your goals.
So much better than feeling stuck and going no where.
And while I’m at it, I also highly recommend Lara’s first book – Make It Happen: Surrender Your Fear. Take the Leap. Live on Purpose. I’m making my way through it now, and I’m loving it. I’ll definitely be recommending this read to my clients – moms and high school seniors alike.
