Bright, Shiny, and New

Well, you may have noticed some changes around here.

It’s looking all bright, shiny, and new! I’m super excited to unveil the new look of Catie Ronquillo Photography. It’s a lot more me and I love it to pieces.

I’ll be honest, change isn’t easy. In fact, this whole rebrand has been in the works for at least two years now. I hesitated. I was scared. I was afraid of change. I was terrified I would do it “wrong”. Although, that’s the thing about owning your own business. There are no “right” or “wrong” answers, there is no black or white, no absolutes; it’s all shades of gray (and no, I haven’t read that book…yet). My business was lacking direction and purpose, and I needed to do something about it.

I knew that I needed to make a change in my business. Shake it up. Make things happen. And I knew that it wasn’t going to work with my former look. There was just something missing, and I couldn’t figure out what it was. I was so ready for change, and yet so scared, that I let things stay as they were. Stagnant. For far too long.

I finally committed to change at the beginning of this summer, after I saw my friend Dianne’s new brand. She posted about the process that she went through and I knew that was what I needed. A team to help me through it, showing me the way. I had tried to do it myself, but something like this can’t be done in a vacuum, on your own. Getting a new look and feel took a lot of work and a lot of soul searching. My brand now has a purpose and direction (not just a new logo!) and I’m confident in showing it off. The time has come to share it and I couldn’t be more thrilled!

Over the next few weeks, I’ll be sharing the process I went through. Maybe it will help you if you’re reading this.

I have to thank the team at An Otherwise Co for all their hard work into figuring me out. Trust me, that wasn’t easy. For answering all my questions, reading all my feedback, and steering me in the right direction for the new brand. They are remarkable and I’m eternally grateful.
