There’s just something different in the air. France has always had a special place in my heart and always will.
Laura and Guillaume married in the quaint village of Cerizols and partied in the tiny resort town of Aspet, nestled in the Pyrenees. Traditionally, French weddings go all night long. Between the overflowing buffet of appetizers (which all the Americans thought was dinner!), to the sumptuous duck (which was the real dinner), and delicious desserts for all to share, as well as the endless bottles of wine, it was an amazing wedding. Not to mention that it was a mini ten-year reunion for my study abroad program. We danced and danced and danced. I had the honor of photographing Laura and Guillaume and I can’t thank them enough for entrusting their wedding day (and my last commissioned wedding!) with me.
After the wedding was over, we spent the following day in Toulouse, the closest large city to Aspet and Cerizols. We got to hang out with my friends from my study abroad program, which was an extra bonus!
One of the many reasons that my husband is awesome. He carried my camera bag when it was getting too heavy for me, even when his own bag was strapped to his back.
Blue skies. Clear air. Green pastures. I think Americans need to take more time to slow down and just experience the here and now. I’ve always appreciated that about the French!
